Pop King Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest today, just weeks before 50 sold-out concert performances before a million fans were scheduled to begin at London's O2 arena. Mr. Jackson had won the backing of two billionaires to stage the event and was in LA rehearsing at the Staple Center for the concert series scheduled to begin on July 13th and continue into 2010.
His backers envisioned a 3 year global tour along with the release of a new album, musical revues in Las Vegas and Macau and a Michael Jackson museum to follow the successful completion of the London concerts.
Paramedics called to the global superstar's rented mansion in LA found he was not breathing. At 12:30 PM PST Mr. Jackson was rushed to UCLA Medical Center in a deep coma and died at 2:26 PM PST. The Jackson family attorney, Brian Oxman, said the cardiac arrest was related to his abuse of medications.
"If you think the case with Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it's nothing in comparison to what we have seen taking place in Michael Jackson's life."
It is being reported that Mr. Jackson left his ownership interest in The Beatles catalog to Sir Paul McCartney.
